Meet Miss Tori - Technique Director at RDA

Hey y'all, I'm Tori Carney. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and as a Lone Star native, I have a homegrown love for any and every thing Texas. Growing up I took a variety dance classes in tap, jazz, and ballet. As I got older I became a member of a competitive dance team. Then in high school I was a member of the Rockwall-Heath Highsteppers. My senior year I became the Captain of the Highsteppers.

After I graduated high school I became a staff member of one of the biggest Dance/Drill Team Corporations in the United States, American Dance/Drill Team School. I continue to work for ADTS during camp season. As an ADTS staff member I have choreographed many Drill Team field and contest dances, as well as officer and solo pieces. I have especially done a lot of work with the Rockwall-Heath Highstepper and Starstepper Drill Teams. This includes providing summer ballet and jazz classes, as well as choreographing and polishing field and contest dances.

I graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Performance in May 2018. I have studied different dance technique styles such as ballet, tap, and jazz. I have also taken pedagogy classes those three named dance techniques. These pedagogy classes have allowed me to learn how to perfect my teaching style and learn how to become a better dance teacher.

I also performed on the Disney Cruise Line aboard the Disney Fantasy where I danced in various ship wide shows. Being able to adventure through the Caribbean while doing what I love was a dream. I’m now back in Rockwall and excited to see what the future holds!

Trials & Evaluations

New to RDA and don't know which classes to enroll in? We offer two different options to fit your needs!

We offer free trial classes per style of dance to ensure your dancer gets a feel for what level and style fits best.

To schedule a free trial class, create an account through our parent portal and contact the office to get more information.

Private Evaluation

If you're more interested in having a private one on one evaluation, you can schedule an evaluation request directly with our Technique Director. This is a preferred option for dancers who have experience and are interested in various dance styles.
